Areas of Specialty
Relationships & Adult Attachment
Helping clients work through difficulties in interpersonal relationships is one of Dr. D’Achiardi-Ressler’s areas of specialty. She uses relational and attachment-based treatment models in this work. We will collaboratively explore dynamics that may contribute to relational difficulties, loneliness, conflict, and/or disconnection.
Adult Psychological Assessment
A portion of Dr. D’Achiardi-Ressler’s practice is dedicated to assessments for a variety of purposes. Specifically, she conducts independent mental health evaluations for workman’s compensation or immigration proceedings. She also makes use of psychological assessment to clarify diagnoses such as learning disorders, ADHD, autism, personality, and/or mood.
Trauma & Dissociation
Trauma is more than being the victim or witness of a crime or accident. There are everyday traumas that can also be relational in nature such as a significant personal loss; being the victim of bullying or discrimination; or, having someone who you care about deeply take advantage of you or create an unsafe environment. Trauma can result in symptoms of dissociation. Dr. D’Achiardi-Ressler has invested much of her professional development time gaining a deep understanding of trauma-sensitive treatments. She is also trained as an EMDR therapist and may choose to use this or other treatments.
Leadership Development & Consultation
Having specialized in vocational psychology during her graduate training and spending almost four years working in a corporate setting as a senior executive, Dr. D’Achiardi-Ressler developed a strong interest in leadership and organizational development as well as change management. Individual therapy with leaders in the community has been a joy of her practice. Dr. D’Achiardi-Ressler spends some of her time in business consulting and leadership development.
