We can perform a variety of independent evaluations as well as psychological assessments at the West Des Moines Center for Psychotherapy. Some of the most common areas of psychological assessment include: intellectual ability; learning difficulties; inattention or hyperactivity problems; readiness for medical procedures; disability determination; and emotional, personality, or adaptive functioning. Independent mental health evaluations typically include but are not limited to workman’s compensation, immigration eligibility, adoption process, and determination of impairment.
Testing appointments vary in length and purpose. For example, you may be scheduled for a face-to-face assessment or a computer-administered assessment. Other types of service for evaluations may include: analysis of results and interpretation of data; review of past records; and, with your permission, contact with other professionals. Additionally, writing of a report and feedback sessions are standard practices in psychological evaluations.
